Truffle Social

Truffle Social aimed to highlight the underfunding and under-researched nature of women’s healthcare for International Women’s Day. The goal: use social media to spark awareness and #AccelerateAction, encouraging increased funding and community engagement.

My Creative Approach

Truffle Social had a clear visual interest in mind, they were inspired by the collage-style and especially editorial fashion photos. I loved these references and had a clear visual direction in my mind. I had a lot of creative freedom for this project, as they didn't want it to be heavily branded, but only to specifically use certain assets like the 'gold vagina' 'gold accents' as well as the 'feminine legs' the 'close the gap' sign and a 'pink rose'. It was easy enough to collage these assets all together, what mattered most was the composition and how to include so much information in such a short amount of time. Typography played a crucial role in complementing the collage style; perfectly aligned text was unsuitable, so I incorporated a mix of styles and overlaid a paper texture to enhance the overall effect.

We delivered something human, fun, and powerful, which suited the campaign far better than any other aesthetic in my opinion.

Impact

The piece was shared across Instagram and LinkedIn, gaining attention from health advocacy accounts and brands aligned with women's rights. It succeeded in driving shares and awareness in a tight 20-second format.

It’s work like this that pushes me creatively and ethically. I’d love to take on more projects like this, fun, short-form, socially-minded, and visually bold. I particularly enjoy the collage style!
