Client: Flight Story Studio Role: Motion Design Assist

For 2 weeks I joined Flight Story Studio on their episode with Mohnish Pabrai and, The Money Making Experts.

For Mohnish's episode, the topic contained analogies, metaphors and complex stories. All of which needed a helping hand using animation and motion graphics to help explain and visualise these concepts. The 2 weeks consisted of getting involved with the production team, planning scenes and coming up with ideas for the episode, and finding the best ways to implement them - whether that was using techniques with AI or utilising motion design. I had the opportunity to play with Google VEO 3's AI tool to create some of the scenes. These AI scenes were comped in After Effects to match the overall aesthetic of DOAC animations. I worked on 17 animations in total.

See below for some snippets from the podcast:

Made in After Effects.

Used Google VEO 3 to generate a specific airport scene. At first this was moving, there were people and planes moving in the background - but this was a bit overcomplicated for it - this can happen sometimes when you ask for lots of things to move. So we kept it static.
Used Google VEO 3 to create a scene, then continued it to last longer. I asked AI to make the screen green, so I could comp this in After Effects and create my own slides to superimpose onto the greenscreen.
Made using After Effects. The icons that come up are generated with AI.

The opportunity to use such an impressive tool such as Google's VEO 3 - and other tools like Adobe Firefly / ChatGPT's Image generation - felt very exciting to learn about, and a bit overwhelming too. These tools bring a new layer to motion design - and I'm enjoying the learning experience!

Next, the conversation with The Money Making Experts conversation I contributed to making a few animations to help with engagement and again with explaining complex topics.
